We are currently doing the Questival, I giant scavenger hunt all over Utah! Already we've done karaoke in a bar, hiked under the stars, and ate cat food! And we aren't even half way done!!

Our lives, as of late...

Things happening in Claire's life:

  • I got a calling at church to act as "Additional Meetings Co-Chair" in Relief Society. Basically this means I get to stress a lot about our upcoming Halloween party. And deal with being the annoying person that no one ever texts back.
  • I will soon apply to the Business Strategy program at BYU. It's the most selective major in the Marriott School, accepting only 55 students every fall. Fingers crossed that I get in!
  • Work has really slowed down. We're taking maybe a tenth as many tours as we were a month ago, so that's been both a blessing and a curse. Less to stress about as far as sending people out goes, but more stress trying to keep people busy.
Things happening in Calon's life:
  • Calon is currently in the thick of Accounting 200. He's thinking that he ultimately wants to go into accounting, so how much he likes this class is kind of a big deal. And, thankfully, he's really liking it. And doing really really well! So that is definitely a blessing.
  • Work is still busy for Calon. He is now also a "language coordinator" in addition to all of the other things he does. This is nice because it comes with a raise, :) , and because it shows just how gosh darn awesome he is at Korean.
  • Calon's family stayed with us a couple nights ago. That was really fun. They made good use of our guest bedroom and got to spend some quality time with us. Having in-laws in a lot more fun than people make it seem. :)
And that's all the news as of late!

The Past Two Weeks

Life has been wonderfully busy in the Lochridge home. Thanks to classes that have hit it hard from the get go we always have plenty of homework to be done.

Don't think this means we aren't finding ways to have fun. Because we are.

We're blessed to have family close with Calon's brother Telmar living in Orem. We see them at least once a week and often do dinner together (especially now that we finally have a table). Sometimes we even drain watermelons. Things can get cray cray.

Our table, covered with ํ•œ ๊ทน ์Œ์‹ (Korean Food)

Our "drained" watermelon

I won the jackpot, eh?
Last week, I found a sweet deal on KSL for a propane grill for $10. Needless to say, we were all over that. We broke it in with a big London Broil, grilled peppers, and sauteed mushrooms. Delish.

Then, on Saturday, we attended the BYU vs. Utah game. It was disappointing to say the least--agonizing would probably be a better description. We stuck it out though, contrary to Calon's complaining, and got to see the Cougars tromped by a vicious Ute/Ref alliance. Though it was fun spending time with the hubby and our great friend Neal from back home, that made for my fourth year of seeing the Utes win. BYU Football is great at getting my hopes up before crushing them. But I'm a Detroit Lions fan; I'm used to it.

Our view of LaVell Edwards Stadium. The energy in the stadium was awesome.
Lastly, our family has some incredible news. My dad is getting baptized! He will join me as the second Larson to "take the plunge." We are so very happy for him and can't wait to head north to Montana for the weekend.

If you have a few minutes, the Mormon Message below, "Families can be Together Forever" is definitely worth the watch.

The Stereotypical Mormon Married Couple Blogging Thing

I kept a journal in middle school. Even up until my sophomore of high school. Each day, descriptively documented. Then I got older. School got in the way. Friends got in the way. Every day turned into every week, and soon every month. Now I can barely remember the last time I wrote in my journal.

But the times are changing, and blogging has become the journaling of the 20 to 30-something newlyweds and young mothers. Though I earnestly railed against the idea of turning into one of "those girls," the appeal of quick entries completed with pictures has got the best of me. Not to mention regular blog posts now being a requirement of my Business Writing class. Nothing like a grade to push a young coed to her keyboard.

The intention of this blog is to document Calon (my new husband) and my's new life together. It will (hopefully) be full of pictures, trips, progress on home improvement projects, developments in education and work, and of course plenty of feel good, mushy-gushy, lovey-dovey stuff. I know how these things work.

For the time being, be satisfied with a couple oh-so-adorable pictures of us, taken in Yellowstone Park.

Yes, that is indeed a buffalo.

And, for those of you wondering what a "fixieis, it's a nickname for a fixed gear bike. Calon and I ride them everywhere and they give us trendy/hipster/cool kid status. See example below. Ahhhh yeah.
